"A response that places the love of neighbor ahead of one’s own personal preferences will, in the long-term, be a stronger witness to our faith. Acting wisely does not indicate a lack of trust in God but it does result in moving us closer to what we all want – a church that is healthy, alive and vibrant safely gathering together." - Bishop Frank J. Beard - Illinois Great Rivers Conference

I Do Not Know You - Sermon Notes
There is a difference between hearing and listening, just ask my wife. Sometimes I hear her speaking, but I didn’t listen to what she said. Samuel heard his name being called, but he didn’t know it was God calling him. He did not recognize the voice of God because he had not yet learned how to listen. We, too, must learn to listen to what we hear from God through the practice of presence before the Lord, teaching through the persistence of important people in our lives, and perception that comes through prayer.

A Word From Our Pastor: Rev. Don Long
I welcome you to O'Fallon First United Methodist Church. Thank you for visiting our little space on the web. We hope you find all the information you need here about our church, but if you don't please feel free to contact us any time.
O'Fallon First UMC is a diverse congregation in the heart of downtown O'Fallon. We are a congregation that is passionate about mission and giving. We know that God has given us many things, and we do our best to share those gifts with our local community, nation, and world.
We are a church that is passionate about families. We have many ministries opportunities for kids, youth, and adults. We host a preschool program, and a Parents Morning Out program for younger children. No matter the shape and size of our family, I believe we have much to offer.
Finally we are a church that is passionate about worship. Come and worship with us, and we are sure you will see Christ moving.
Thanks for visiting, and we hope to see you soon,
Rev. Don Long.
